Allen Foster

Allen has been a civil trial lawyer for 58 years, representing individuals and companies who have been damaged by the actions of others. After graduating from Princeton, Oxford , and Harvard Law School, Allen formed his own firm in Greensboro, NC, which was later acquired by Patton Boggs, causing him to move to Washington with his wife Susan and two young children. Allen moved his law practice to Greenberg Traurig and then to Whiteford, Taylor, Preston where there were fewer conflicts to prevent him from being adverse to large corporations, insurers and foreign governments. Allen served as Senior Warden of St. Francis Church in Greensboro and as Treasurer of Christ Church Georgetown. Susan was Chair of the Altar Guild and a member of the Vestry at CCG. Allen also serves as a Director of the Foundation supporting St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in England. He, Susan, their children and grandchildren have appreciated the warm welcome they have received at Christ Church St. Michaels and deeply value the traditional worship, liturgy and music of the Episcopal Church.

The Table of the Lord

This is the table, not of the Church, but of the Lord. It is made ready for those who seek God, those who love God, and those who want to love God more. So come, you who have much faith, and you who have little, or are questioning faith. Come, you who have been here often, and you who have not been for a long time or ever before. Come, you who have tried to follow and you who have failed. Come, not because the Church invites you; it is Christ who invites you to be known, to be fed, to be loved here.
