After graduating from the University of Tennessee and Carnegie-Mellon University, Bruce enjoyed a three-decade career in Information Technology and Telecommunications, mostly with Boeing and MCI, where he had various technical management responsibilities in the U.S. and Europe, and managed to have more fun working than should have been allowed. This experience may have prepared him for his years of service on the Buildings and Grounds Committee, including an earlier year on the Vestry. He has also served on the Finance Committee at Christ Church, as well as on financial review teams for our Church and other churches in the Diocese. And he has served on the Diocesan committee for ‘orphaned’ properties for several years. Bruce and his amazing wife Lee have been active at Christ Church since 2005, were married here in 2006 and have lived in the St Michaels area full-time since 2007. They have travelled a good bit, have enjoyed sailing in the Bay and in the Islands, and still enjoy small ship cruises abroad and flying trips using the airplane that has been in his family for 50 years (with modern improvements). He plays tennis year-round and is an infrequent golfer. He aspires to provide stewardship where needed for the physical and financial assets of the Church.
This is the table, not of the Church, but of the Lord. It is made ready for those who seek God, those who love God, and those who want to love God more. So come, you who have much faith, and you who have little, or are questioning faith. Come, you who have been here often, and you who have not been for a long time or ever before. Come, you who have tried to follow and you who have failed. Come, not because the Church invites you; it is Christ who invites you to be known, to be fed, to be loved here.
